A Day at the River

My partner Kenny and I went to the Boise area to visit with his parents last week. Because the weather was so nice, we decided to go fishing.

We found a beautiful, secluded area in the wilderness past Idaho City.

Ken made FIVE catches! They were all suckerfish, though, so he let them go. I guess they're no good to eat.

What a ham!

We were so deep in the woods that we saw all kinds of critters - squirrels, groundhogs, chipmunks, and even a deer!

I made friends with this butterfly. I guess I smelled nice, because even though he left a few times, he always came right back to land on me! He must have been on my hand for 45 minutes.

What a beautiful, relaxing day!

J&L Adventure 1: Downtown Scavenger Hunt

Since my friend Lindsey and I will both be staying in Corvallis over the summer, we have made it our mission to see all of the great things that there are to see in and around town.

Our first adventure was a self-made scavenger hunt of the downtown! We put together a list of 15 things we wanted to see and took pictures as we found them. Here are some of the things we discovered:

Thanks for the photos and the fun day, Lindsey!

Peace Prevails, Part 2

Thanks to Ben, Lindsey, and Brittany, I found out that the last photo featured Hebrew, Arabic, and Sanskrit!

Here's the other side. Can you identify these languages? Post in the comments below! :)

Peace Prevails

I was taking a walk in a nearby park when I noticed this post.

I love the message it sends. I just wish I knew in which languages the message is sent.

So, interwebs, I turn to you. Can you identify the languages shown? Let me know in the comments!

When we succeed, I'll post a part 2 with the other side ;)

Knotted Headband

I found some super-sweet crochet headbands on Pinterest a while back, and I had to make one for myself! I chose Caron Simply Soft Brites in Grape for mine - I dig an electric purple.

Pinterest linked me to All About Ami, which gave great directions on how to make this cute accessory. The original poster's friend bought a similar headband for about $15 USD, and I was happy to make it with yarn I had on-hand!

I realize now that I should have followed the directions a little more closely. The blog said to chain 70, but since it didn't look it'd be big enough, I threw on an extra 10. It fits well around my melon, but I'd prefer for it to stretch and cling. Something to remember for next time!
